Job description
Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with a leading healthcare provider that has been serving its community since 1961 with a mission to improve the health and well-being of the community by providing outstanding and compassionate care. We are currently in search for a Medical Technologist II - Point of Care to join the team.
Position Information:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation. May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems. Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
2 Years Clinical Laboratory experience in a Moderate to High Complexity Testing facility required.
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Required - or Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor's Degree Related Field Required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
American Society for Clinical Pathology or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Weekend Requirements:
As Needed
Call Requirements:
Every 6th week
