In this role as Fiscal Technician, you will provide dedicated administrative support to the Dean's Team and all CLA departments. The role requires a strong focus on fiscal and technological skills, organization, communication, and great attention to detail. The position is crucial in providing fiscal in-person support to our growing college. In this position, you will work closely with the CLA Dean's Team and all of our academic departments and programs to ensure the success of CLA. To thrive in this fast-paced environment you will need to be organized, self-motivated, and work well under deadline. Excellent customer service and communication skills both oral and written are essential. We promote a friendly, upbeat work environment with a focus on service. Basic knowledge of accounting systems with ability to analyze expenditure and revenue data and the ability to perform technical accounting functions and cost projections will be indispensable in this role. Minimum Qualifications: College coursework in Accounting or related field and one year entry-level accounting/fiscal experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with computer programs and operations. Knowledge of automated accounting systems, and electronic spreadsheets. Knowledge of bank transactions and cash control methods. Knowledge of accounting system functions or procedures (e.g. accounts receivable, accounts payable). Intermediate fiscal skills. Analytical and problem solving skills. Verification, monitoring and reconciling skills. Ability to resolve issues. Ability to maintain accounts and data. Ability to understand fiscal and purchasing policies, rules & regulations. Intermediate computer and spreadsheet skills. Position Details: This position is located on the UA campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 76, based on education and experience.
