Job description

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is seeking an assistant principal for the 2024-25 school year. We are a Catholic school in Denver, CO serving 425 students in grades PK3-8th grade. Rooted in the truth and love of Jesus Christ and His Church, we are committed to educating the whole child for the future. Candidates must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Catholic Church. Candidates with a Master's degree in Administrative Leadership, Educational Leadership or related field will be preferred. A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience is also preferred. The Assistant Principal will support the overall day-to-day operations of the school: Support Overall School Focus

  2. Schoolwide and Archdiocesan goals
  3. Assess implemented programs and continue as discerned
Support Students 1. Instructional a. Oversee RTI Program Grades K-3 b. Write and update accommodation plans c. Review STAR and DIBELS reports to prepare for support recommendations d. Oversee resource team and requests for DPS intervention 2. Assessment a. Oversee STAR process, coordinate testing schedule within designated windows b. Prep ACRE c. Continue conversations with teachers about classroom assessment and what grades are communicating to the student/parent 3. Coordinate BETA induction and meeting schedule, Faculty Advisor to BETA 4. Support student discipline 5. Complete High School recommendations Support Teachers
  1. Review Lesson Plans of assigned teachers
  2. Complete 1-2 formal observations/year and final summative evaluation
  3. Coach selected teachers as indicated
  4. Prepare Parent/Teacher Conference Schedule
Support School
  1. Oversee Title Program Funding
  2. Oversee Emergency Response Plans, Set bells, Drill schedule
  3. Oversee substitute teacher needs
  4. Provide Tours to Prospective Parents
  5. Supervise traffic duties
  6. Create supervision schedule
  7. Create academic schedule
  8. Distribute textbooks and planners to classroom
  9. Attend SAC Meetings
  10. Share in the interview / new hire process
The Assistant Principal will report directly to the Principal. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree in Administrative Leadership, Educational Leadership or related field from an accredited college or university Colorado administrator license (or equivalent from out of state) Background and/or education in Early Childhood and/or Child Development Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience Knowledgeable of current school law, with a specific emphasis on IDEA and Special Education laws for non-public schools.
