Certified Technician: Electrical Diagnosis
Position Overview
The role of the Certified Electrical Technician is to diagnose, maintain and repair vehicles in accordance with dealer and factory standards. This position interacts daily with Customers, Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Associates, Cashiers, Sales Associates and Managers. You will be responsible for building customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in Bayou Automotive as the care-giver for their vehicle’s safety and reliability.

Certified Electrical Technician Responsibilities:
- Confers with a service advisor, if necessary, to determine the nature of any electrical malfunctions.
- Determines malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection and use of testing devices such as oscilloscope, voltmeter and ammeter.
- Estimates the cost of repairs based on parts and labor charges.
- Repairs or replaces defective wiring.
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Tests and repairs starters, generators, and distributors.
- Drives customers' vehicles to test the quality of work performed.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Attends manufacturer-sponsored product training as requested.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Certified Electrical Technician Qualifications:
- Ford Certification in Electrical and Body Preferred.
- 3 years of auto electrical experience and knowledge of diagnosing vehicles with communication wiring.
- Safe driving record & valid in-state driver’s license
- Must have an inventory of hand tools to facilitate the assigned repairs
- Computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
