The Idaho State Tax Commission's Coeur d'Alene Office is recruiting for a Sales Tax Auditor 1 position (Underfill for a Tax Auditor 2*) in the Audit Division. This position may work with other tax types in the future.

Tax Auditors interact with taxpayers and their representatives to verify the accuracy of tax returns and prepare reports of findings, conclusions, or recommendations. The Audit team is our first line of defense in protecting Idaho citizens from very sophisticated fraudsters trying to extract money from taxpayers. Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices. We highly encourage new college grads to apply!

Typically gained by having at least two years of professional work experience as an accountant, or equivalent, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), AND having at least 12 college credits, or equivalent coursework, in accounting, including the equivalent of Intermediate I and II.

OR

Having at least four years of professional work experience as an accountant, or equivalent, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Students who are currently in their last semester of college earning a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or in Business with accounting emphasis are encouraged to apply and are eligible to be placed on the hiring list. A job offer cannot be made until after graduation with degree.

Our background check includes a background questionnaire, FBI nation-wide, fingerprint based criminal history check, verification of tax compliance, and receipt of positive references.
