With forensic accounting professionals in over 40 offices on 5 continents, MDD has global resources to assist our clients with their forensic accounting needs. MDD helps insurance companies, law firms, multinational corporations, government entities, and individuals calculate the true economic damages in claims or disputes.
MDD is looking for a Senior Accountant to serve as an essential member of the forensic accounting team in our Troy office. The ideal candidate will have a sound technical background in accounting/finance, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze financial data, accounting documents and other case specific information. Matters involve a wide range of industries from manufacturing to retail operations, professional services, healthcare and more.
- Prepare detailed financial models, databases and summaries using MS Excel
- Evaluate insurance claims and economic damage analyses prepared by third parties
- Communicate results of analysis in a clear and concise manner verbally and in writing
- Work closely with senior staff on litigation cases, insurance claims and other forensic accounting matters
- Perform case specific research, including reading and summarizing transcripts of witness testimony
- Assist in the preparation of expert report narratives
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work within client deadlines
- Represent the firm at local industry functions alongside senior team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- CPA or actively pursuing designation
- Fluency in multiple languages, a plus
- Must have demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
