University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care.

Serving North Texas and surrounding areas, UBH Denton has provided a range of programs treating mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues since 2005. Our inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services offer supportive and compassionate care for adolescents and adults with specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients.

Position Summary:

The Director of Intake is accountable for the oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department.  As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals.  This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, fellow department heads, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers.  The Intake Director is responsible for the department’s budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data management/analysis. In addition, the Intake Director participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital’s strategic goals. The Director of Intake reports directly to the hospital’s CEO.

Qualifications

Education: LCSW, Ph.D., or RN-Licensure-(Bachelors or Master’s) prepared from an accredited college or university. Previous experience in Mental Health related field preferred. Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable.  Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. A minimum of three (3) years of managing a professional/clinical team and responsible for staffing, budget, and process improvements.

Licensure: R.N., L.C.S.W., Ph.D., or applicable license per state regulations.

Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.  Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care and CPR. Knowledge and ability to effectively use computers, analysis programs, and internet for measurement and reporting of key indicators and trends.
