About the Role & Program
Do you wonder how movies are created and developed for Disney Channel and Disney+? The Disney Branded Television Original Movies team is looking for an intern to join their department to contribute their skills and ideas to a close-knit team. Our department that takes projects from idea to script to movie. We are the team behind the popular Descendants and Zombies franchises, and recent movies include The Naughty Nine, The Slumber Party, and Prom Pact. If you'd like to challenge your skillset and learn more about the development of movies for Disney Channel and Disney+, then this might be a phenomenal role for you!
If selected for this position, you will report directly to the Coordinator, Original Movies.
What You Will Do
You will work hands-on with our Original Movies team. You will have the opportunity to see how the process of an idea moves through the process to become a movie first-hand. Not every day is the same in our department, but you should expect to be responsible for the following:
Administrative Support - Filing projects
Database Management – Assisting with the organizing of databases, such as submissions logs
Coordinating Meetings – Interacting with outside businesses, and seeing the scope of the industry as a whole
Reviewing Materials – Reading scripts and books submitted for development, samples from talent
Required Qualifications & Skills
Organized and ability to work on multiple projects at once
Self-starter
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute ideas
Ability to make decisions
Curiosity in entertainment, particularly development in children’s programming
General knowledge of Disney Branded Television Original Movies
Preferred Qualifications
Involvement in entertainment-related extracurricular activities
A background working with Microsoft Office, Airtable, Canva, Final Draft, Adobe Acrobat, SAP, etc.
Education
Students studying in their senior year or recent graduate within 6 (six) months
Students majoring in English, Theater, or Film preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through December 2024
Must be fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Must provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
Must have reliable transportation to/from work
