Food Prep/Cashier/Patio Expediter/Expediter
Day Shift Start time 9.am. - 11 a.m.
Evening Shift Start Time: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
All employees of D’Elia’s can expect to be assigned to any positions and/or shifts that are necessary for the operations of the restaurants. Although each position has its specific duties, an employee can expect to help wherever necessary. All jobs require prolonged periods of standing, some bending, stooping, and lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs. New employees hired for this position are usually paid at the prevailing minimum wage rate, with regular, evaluation based increases. At the discretion of D’Elia’s, a new employee with job experience and/or an advanced educational background may be paid at a higher entry wage rate. Employees may be transferred to an alternate location on a temporary or permanent basis.
Job duties include the following::
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times, and especially when customers are present in the restaurants;
- Make sure that all customers entering the restaurants are served in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner;
- Take customers’ orders and forward to food prep area;
- Answer the phone in a courteous manner, record phone orders, forward to food prep area;
- Process delivery and online orders as they are received;
- Ring up sales for all orders and make correct change;
- When catering orders are received, fill out order slip, review with manager on duty before shift end, put order slip in appropriate file;
- When orders are completed, expedite orders to customers in either a bag or on a tray, depending on whether the order is to-go or to be eaten in the restaurants;
- Prepare grinders, grill orders, and side dishes according to customers’ orders;
- Stock cups, napkins, condiments, ice, deli case items, etc. as they need to be replenished;
- Bake assorted cookies, make salads, and brew coffee and tea according to restaurant procedures. May require lifting and/or carrying 20 lb. cookie boxes;
- Fill lettuce basins, tomato trays, oil bottles, salt, pepper, & red pepper shakers, tape dispensers, and sandwich wrap on food prep tables as needed;
- Replace meat and cheese supplies on food prep tables as needed;
- Stock grill table, steam table, and fryer as needed;
- Clean counters, drink dispensers, food prep tables, inside and outside patio tables and chairs, condiment table, steam table, grill and any other area of the restaurants that are needed;
- Wash dishes, pots and pans as needed according to restaurant disinfectant policy;
- Sweep floors as needed;
- Insure that public restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies;
- If 18 or older, drain and clean the fryer;
- Assist fellow employees when necessary;
- Direct all customer complaints to the manager on duty or to an owner; and
- Perform any other additional duties requested by a trainer, shift leader, assistant manager, manager, or owner for the successful operation of the restaurants.
