Description

In this role, you will coach, train, develop and evaluate employees and assist in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision-making accompanied by a high level of independent discernment. You will provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems, and assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations in addition to the following:

Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group

Administer Corporate policies

Meet cost, schedule and quality and environmental requirements

Maintain Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards

Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements

Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project

Responsible for supporting, mentoring, and motivating your salary and hourly workforce across multiple departments

Manage safety, productivity, and quality

Analyze and solve complex manufacturing problems by assisting in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations

Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project

Collaborate closely with all support teams to meet business objectives, including cost and schedule demands 

Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the guidelines of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE)

Additional Description

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or Technical focus preferred

6+ years of experience in manufacturing environments

3+ years of experience in Painting Operations or Processes

2+ years of experience in leading salaried team(s)

Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required (Paint)

Thorough knowledge of GM-GMS Manufacturing System and Processes

Must possess the ability to deal with complex problems

High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required

Must be willing to rotate shifts
