Description:
The Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS) is seeking a Research Associate to participate in a two-year DOE-funded project on Hydrogen (H2) geostorage, in collaboration with Gas-Technology-Institute (GTI) and Pacific Northwest National Labs (PNNL). The project will involve assessing and modeling sites for future storage of hydrogen fuel, using techniques common in petroleum engineering/geology. The Research Associate will compile existing data and samples from the Oklahoma Geological Survey data and sample repository, collaborate with Pacific Northwest National Labs on core-scale experimentation, and use software packages like Petrel and Arc-GIS to develop geologic models to assess H2 storage potential. The appointment has two-years of guaranteed funding with opportunities for future funding.
Qualifications:
Ph.D., or M.Sc. with experience, in Geosciences or Engineering with a focus on subsurface storage and/or flow modeling. Proficiency in Petrel and familiarity with Arc-GIS software packages preferred. Some record of publications, funding history or equivalent industry experience, is desirable.
