May 2024 Position Summary:
Charter Oak's Front Desk Administrator is a pivotal member of the College's welcome team, serving as the first
point of contact for students, employees and the public entering the College's headquarters at the New Britain
Center for Higher Education in Downtown New Britain. This role demands exceptional customer service skills
and involves a range of reception and clerical duties. Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Controller the Front Desk Administrator is accountable for greeting and directing building visitors, managing communication channels for select departments and providing valuable administrative support to the campus team. This position additionally provides support to the Financial Aid and Academic Service Departments while not tending to front-desk interactions by effective performance in these essential areas:

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree with a minimum of two years of administrative experience or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.

Preferred Qualifications: Starting Salary:
Anticipated salary; $46,286 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
