Contracts Specialist
RFA seeks a highly detail-oriented, professional, and experienced Contracts Specialist who will provide cradle-to-grave contract administration support to RFA's team. Our preferred candidate will have hands-on experience managing Firm-Fixed-Price, Time and Materials, Labor-Hour contracts. The candidate will report to the Budget Director and act as the primary point of contact for all RFA departments regarding RFA's agreements with the vendors and domestic and international consultants.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and review contracts and contract modifications with entities and individual consultants/contractors.
- Input contract data into RFA's financial management and electronic document management system.
- Analyze complex contractual issues, identify potential problems, and propose effective solutions.
- Structure contracts, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with RFA requirements.
- Provide regular reports and statistics on contracts to RFA's leadership.
- Prepare contract-related reports and data for the government as needed.
- Research and interpret federal, state, and local laws that apply to RFA's contracts in the US and abroad.
- Review and provide recommendations on RFA's contract management approach, templates, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with other departments throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records, track contract milestones, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Support the Budget Director in other assigned tasks.
- Assist the Budget Analyst as needed.
Qualification:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, or contract management is required.
- Experience: At least four (4) years of related working experience that demonstrates the required duties and responsibilities listed above, preferably in a fast-paced environment and handling large volumes of contracts.
- Knowledge of CFR (Code of Federal Regulations).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Possess strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to assess risks, resolve disputes, and optimize contract terms.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to build positive relationships with consultants, teams, and RFA departments.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills: Must be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple contracts simultaneously. Strong organizational skills are required.
