Job Description:

Unison Systems is looking for an Security Architect-Energy and Sustainability Team for our client who is the global leader in real estate logistics. We’re a fast-paced team with a commitment to security. We’re a no legacy, 100% Cloud, ten-year old department leaning on a healthy budget to drive and grow security innovation at our company. You need to be willing to learn whatever it takes to get the job done. This position will work with our business units and emerging technology IT partners. You can expect to consult on the architecture, buildout, and deployment of security solutions in these new systems. As a Security Architect you’ll also ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies/standards and help institute industry best practices.

This is a six-month contract to hire. 100% remote. Preference is to find someone in the Denver, Colorado area.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Proven experience with design, development and integration of threat modeling, secure application development, developing security controls architecture patterns, and creating strategies and roadmaps
• Perform security assessments
• Document security architecture, policies, and procedures
• Act as a security advisor to our Energy and Sustainability teams
• Interact with security vendors and uphold the strong relationship between the company and vendor
• Promote security awareness and adoption of security standards and practices to all staff members including vendors
• Remain current on emerging security risks, trends and technologies and share with business and IT team
• Identify recurring problems and recommend proactive measures to eliminate them
• Periodic on-call duties

Essential Skills & Experience: 

• College degree or 8-10 years of experience in IT with a broad range of exposure to all IT operations
• 10+ years of experience in IT Security
• 4-5 years of experience in a cloud environment
• Experience with energy or utility technologies
• DevSecOps Experience
• Experience with designing and developing security controls for cloud native architectures
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Positive, proactive work ethic and approach
• Proven ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with customers, peers, management, contractors, and vendors
• Show tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgement in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation
• CISSP Certification
• CCSP Certification or ability to acquire certification within 12 months of employment
• Experience building systems in AWS

Nonessential Skills & Experience: 

• Experience with System and Network Administration
• Experience in data administration and security methods, plus various database design techniques
• Experience with PCI and billing systems
• Experience with utilities and utility infrastructure
• Knowledge of global privacy and security standards
• AWS Certification(s)
