Litigation Defense Paralegal - Lansing, MI and Grand Rapids, MI
LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks highly motivated and experienced
Workers' Compensation Defense Litigation Paralegals and Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegals to join our law firm client\u2019s team in a full-time role. This is a direct hire opportunity with a
salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 annually and requires working onsite.
About the Role: In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting our client's attorneys in handling workers' compensation defense and insurance defense cases. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Drafting and filing legal documents
- Communicating with clients, attorneys, and other parties
- Processing and following up on subpoenas
- Reviewing and summarizing medical records and preparing chronologies
- Communicating with expert witnesses
- Scheduling and preparing deposition summaries
- Preparing trial exhibits, trial binders, and assisting with trial preparation
- Managing discovery requests and drafting motions, among other documents
- Organizing and maintaining case files
- Calendaring and managing documents and court deadlines
- Developing and maintaining a docket to ensure deadlines are never missed
Qualifications: - Minimum of an associate's degree or paralegal certification
- 2+ years of recent US law firm experience working as a paralegal
- Demonstrated record of at least 1600 billable hours per year
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, document management systems, and billing software
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience in workers' compensation defense litigation and/or insurance defense litigation
