Description

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Business Services (PBS), this position will provide analysis intended to improve collections for SIU Medicine, report errors, trend of errors, identify root causes, and create key performance indicators, for both SIU Healthcare and SIU School of Medicine (FQHCs), as it relates to the efficient use of financial and other resources. This position will apply analytical techniques; financial, economic, and decision-support theory; and long-range, comprehensive perspectives, to assist in the development best practice collection strategies, including, but not limited to Managed Care Medicaid and Managed Care Medicare, Commercial and other SIU Medicine contracted payers. This position will also provide support to and assistance in maintaining and updating the revenue cycle applications. The incumbent will also assist in examining and analyzing the athenalDX (CB) BAR and TES setup to help implement system changes for best practices and maximize user-efficiency . The ability to work in a collaborative manner with both technical and non-technical personnel is essential.

Qualifications

A. College coursework comparable to that in a field related to financial analysis/planning such as accounting, business administration, economics, finance, statistics, or a closely related field

B. work experience in developing financial or economic analyses, research designs, strategic plans, or data models.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional level progressively responsible financial work experience.
3. 2 years of experience in revenue cycle/practice/healthcare management with knowledge of billing processes.
