Job description

Cartography Biosciences is a therapeutics organization creating the first atlas to identify targets that are specific enough to only engage cancerous cells, broad enough to work across cancer cells and patients, and safe enough to sidestep toxic side effects. Founded by Kevin Parker, Howard Chang, and Ansu Satpathy, Cartography is bridging immunology and computation to understand the critical differences between normal and cancerous cells, ultimately solving the challenge of finding the safest, most selective targets for a variety of immunotherapeutic approaches.

About the position: We are searching for highly motivated individuals to join our team focused at the interface of cell therapeutics and genomics research. You'll work in close collaboration with experimental and computational team members while also driving projects independently.

The ideal candidate will apply and learn a diverse set of molecular biology, immunology, and genomics techniques. Overall, this position offers a rich opportunity to engage in research at the frontier of cell therapeutics and genomic analysis, with high potential for future growth. We also welcome candidates who wish to go on to medical or graduate school, or other similar professional career tracks in health care and science.

Responsibilities

* Design and perform molecular biology experiments related to single-cell genomic profiling and sequencing.
* Engage in processing of primary human samples including tissue dissociation, antibody staining, flow sorting/cytometry, and single-cell multi-omics techniques.
* Independently conduct experiments; maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes; and work in collaboration with other team members.
* Contribute to the presentation of findings (slide deck, white paper, publication) as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

* Bachelor or Masters degree in life sciences or a related area.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

* Knowledge and experience in any of the following fields: immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, or related fields.
* Experience with general experimental protocols in molecular biology, immunology, and genomics.
* Familiarity with single-cell genomics methods, flow cytometry, PCR, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, Western blotting, or mammalian cell culture.
* Ability to maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
* Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
* Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work.
* Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and the ability and desire to perform as part of a team.

$82,000 - $100,000 a year

This posting represents various levels - Research Associate to Senior Research Associate. As such the starting range of $82,000 - $100,000 encompasses all roles. Level and commensurate salary will be based on the candidate's unique skill set, education, and experience, while taking into consideration internal equity.
