The Analyst, Compensation supports the development, implementation, and refinement of the organization's compensation and classification systems by conducting salary surveys and benchmarking, performing internal equity and wage analyses, participating in job evaluations, researching and reporting on compensation trends, and providing detailed recommendations that ensure legal compliance and align with the District's compensation philosophy. This position reports to the Director, Compensation & Strategic Projects.
Salary Support Exempt Salary Schedule, Level 5 (Salary: $65,025 a year)
FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications A minimum Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution.
-Preferred qualification: Bachelor?s degree in human resources, finance, business analytics, or other related field.
A minimum of three years? relevant human resources, compensation, or finance experience.
-Preferred qualification: Extensive experience in job classification and compensation.
-Preferred qualification: Experience in an urban school district, government or municipal agency, or higher education setting inclusive of multiple collective bargaining units.
Specialized certification or micro-credential relevant to compensation preferred.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a minimum degree or a minimum experience rating.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with regulatory, market, and compensation practice changes and trends.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative job evaluation methodology.
Previous labor contract cost analysis experience preferred.
Demonstrated record of strong analytic, systems-thinking, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex data findings to a lay audience.
Proven organizational skills, including a high attention to detail.
Experience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platforms and ensuring data integrity, processing, reporting, and auditing.
Excellent analytical, financial, and spreadsheet skills.
Ability to manage frequent and competing deadlines.
Technical proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Demonstrated experience and skill for providing great customer service including, but not limited to: empathy, active listening, professional courtesy and decorum, cultural sensitivity, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to cultivate relationships with culturally, educationally, and racially diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions -Conduct and participate in salary surveys and other data exchanges to gather information needed to identify relevant market trends and develop compensation recommendations that support employee recruitment and retention.
-Refine and maintain the District?s classification architecture by cataloging and analyzing job descriptions, collecting external labor market data, and classifying job-level criteria.
-Support Talent Management team in identifying internal career pathways to strengthen workforce planning.
-Perform internal equity, wage gap, and wage compression analyses and, if needed, recommend adjustments to compensation programs.
-Audit compensation data to ensure compliance with wage and labor laws, local and state regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and other District policies.
-Establish and implement regular cycles for conducting market analyses, external benchmarking, and internal audits.
-Support the development of compensation proposals through research, data gathering, and cost analysis as part of overall collective bargaining strategy.
-Participate in the position classification process to ensure existing and new positions align with the classification architecture.
-Organize, develop, and maintain compensation and classification resources including business rules, operating procedures, and other support documentation.
-Consult and collaborate with all human resources (HR) divisions to plan for compensation adjustments, collective bargaining, grievance responses, and other policies and benefits relevant to employee compensation.
-Review and confirm severance payments for separating employees.
-Serve as a backup for conducting entry into Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for compensation transactions in the absence of the Assistant, Compensation & Strategic Projects.
Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of HR department goals and objectives, and the District?s mission.
