The Costumer Sr. takes a costume from page to stage. You will research and facilitate manufacturing new and replacement Entertainment costumes while collaborating with some of the industry's top talent. The Costumer Sr. will communicate direction and concepts to multiple levels of Cast Members.
This position reports to the Area Manager Costume Production.
This is a full-time role.
What You Will Do
Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to maintain costume quality and design
Assist in the production of estimates, lead timelines & budgets for various levels of offerings up to and including large-scale spectaculars
Work with the Costume Designer or independently to identify fabrics, trims, and all garment accessories factoring in climate, safety, and functionality
Coordinate fittings, including fit and function, with Entertainment and Workroom personnel
Detail Costumes and Production processes in various formats for history and analysis
Source new vendors for materials and finished goods and attend trade shows to keep up on the cutting edge of costume production
Guide and mentor hourly union cast, coaching them through their show responsibilities and shepherding their development
Monitor show quality through Cast feedback and periodic assessments.
Provide direction on how to clean costumes, set up lines, etc.
Interface daily with Entertainment Show Producers, Directors, Designers, and Entertainment and Costuming Operations Leaders
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of experience in a costume-related field
3+ years of experience working with budgets, estimates, and implementing new live entertainment offerings
Experience with garment construction and textiles
Experience negotiating with both internal and external partners
Experience planning and driving projects
Experience purchasing and sourcing
Experience communicating (verbally and written) with all levels of partners
Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including extended hours and holidays
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Ability to work around all types of fabrics, fibers, and furs
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience
Experience managing projects with multiple work streams
Experience using a PLM and purchasing software
Multilingual (Spanish/Vietnamese)
Education
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Advanced degree in Costuming, Costume Design, Textiles, Theater, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, or Fine Arts is preferred

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $70,000 to $93,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
