This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Hospital Services to ensure quality assurance of all inquiries and orders, ensuring that customer needs are met relating to quantity, product and services.
- Supervise, train, mentor and develop assigned staff.
- Maintain control of all products in inventory and distribution of products.
- Write, updates, and issues competency tests to ensure competencies.
- Keep track of returns , holds, outdates and manual packing slips.
- Monitor resale products, (i.e., HLA and crossmatched apheresis) and other patient related products are distributed in a timely fashion.
- Ensure proper completion of maintenance documents.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely fashion.
- Work with deviation management systems to inform QRA of any noncompliance.
- Oversee and document maintenance and repair of critical equipment.
- Ensure all NIST certified equipment is within calibration and documented.
- Monitor the tracking program to make sure all orders placed by customers have been completed in a timely fashion.
- Oversee supply inventories; ensure adequate par levels.
- Oversee the processing of customer product orders.
- Resolve complex problems and issues relating to blood product.
- Provide high level of customer service by interacting and responding to internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are in place and followed by employees.
- Develop SOP’s in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and complies with cGMP.
- Partner with QA and NYBC laboratories to investigate blood recalls for both instate and export customer.
- Manages blood product inventories by participating in planning and production teams. Interfaces with key staff to maintain appropriate inventory levels of all blood products . Exports and imports blood products as necessary.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree (Preferred)
Related Experience:
- Four years of experience in distribution or in a healthcare setting.
- Supply Chain Experience (preferred).
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hiring rate is $31.43 p/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
