Forklift Operator Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our client's team. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will contribute to our operations' overall productivity and success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to load, unload, and transport materials within the facility.
- Safely and securely stack materials while maximizing storage space.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or operational issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow established procedures for the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring the removal of debris and obstructions.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring accuracy and efficient workflow.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production personnel to fulfill orders and meet deadlines.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to quality and productivity.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for forklift operation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
