The Research Librarian will manage and deliver Office/Country information and research services within the context of the firm's regional/global Knowledge strategy; to work with the Information & Research Manager (Country)/Regional I&R Lead, Country Knowledge Partner, and local Knowledge team; and to act as the point of contact for information and research requests and inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Service Orientation
- Maintain and build strong relationships with Partners and Lawyers North America, the Knowledge Manager (Mexico), the Regional I&R Lead, regional Specialist functions (Information Product Management Lead Information Product Management Specialist, and Research Lead/Manager), Knowledge Lawyers, and external suppliers for local and regional information resources
- Demonstrate value through effective communication with stakeholders and key relationships
Knowledge & Expertise
- Respond to research inquiries requiring in-market expertise for research, information, or initial current awareness set-up as applicable. Manages and coordinates the referral of local inquiries to the appropriate Service Center
- Understand and promote the role and functionality of the firm's research, content, and information repositories and resources
- Develop information alerts and newsletters to provide legal and regulatory updates
- Ensure and facilitate timely access to relevant legal information and research resources to support lawyers providing advice to clients
- Manage the procurement of local information resources in alignment with Information Product Management policies and consultation with the Information Product Management Lead/Regional I&R Lead. Manages the relationship with local external information vendors
- Assist with the delivery of I&R resource training support, as well as Knowledge resource training support where relevant. Assists with developing and running training plans and programmes for lawyers, BDMC, and in-market staff as required
- Uses information and research platforms and technology (e.g. InfoNgen, GLMS) effectively and understands their capabilities (e.g. modules) and functionalities. Able to offer guidance to users when using information and research platforms
- Working with the Information & Research Manager (Country) and Research Lead/Business Research Manager, liaises with internal clients to learn about their business focus and information needs

- Collaborative, supportive, team player working with other in-market Librarians and the wider Knowledge community

Work Management
- Support and participate in the adoption and use of Knowledge and I&R systems
- Participate in and lead projects as requested
- Aware of and participates in the firm's goals. Participates in setting and aligning Library team goals with PG goals, managing resources, and evaluating use. Reports on usage and space management
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant undergraduate degree
- Good relevant experience with strong experience in Knowledge, information, and research in a professional services environment
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationships virtually, communicate effectively, comfortable working in large, complex environments, highly credible and persuasive
- Strong people management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage people's time to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and a sense of urgency in setting strategies and executing against the objectives
- Proven ability to influence, interact, and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills, and effective stakeholder management
- Strong communication skills, and highly credible presentation skills
- Comprehension of a diverse set of knowledge and information resources
If this role is located in an office in the state of New York or California, the base compensation for this position is targeted at $88K to $110K annually.
