Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

Assists in the handling of day-to-day Human Resources functions including, benefit administration, payroll, performance and compensation management system administration, regulatory compliance, event planning, employee relations and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 
  1. Processes CASE’s bi-weekly payroll.
 
  1. Oversees administration of CASE’s benefits program by monitoring benefit eligibility; making additions and removals when necessary.
 
  1. Maintains Human Resources files and records; scanning and indexing to ensure accurate record keeping.
 
  1. Maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
 
  1. Assists with CASEs onboarding program and partners with the Learning and Development Department to conduct New Employee Orientation.
 
  1. Ensures the Human Resources information is available to staff via the BriefCASE site, presentations at All-Staff Meetings, department meetings, etc.
 
  1. Assists in planning/organizing staff events (ie. Employee Picnic, employee fun events, etc.)
 
  1. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and benefits.
 
  1. Assists with the employee performance evaluation program.
 
  1. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
 
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.
** Job will be a hybrid role, may be required to come in occassionally for various meetings, job functions, etc. but will largely work from home after training is complete.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

1.         Human Resources goals are established and executed to effectively meet the needs of staff at all levels of the Credit Union.  Staff is knowledgeable and competent in compensation, benefits, and HR initiatives. 

2.         HR resources are well developed, functional, and easily accessible.

3.         Benefit open enrollments are well coordinated and communicated to staff in a timely manner. 

4.         HR procedures are regularly reviewed and modified as needed.  New HR systems and resources are developed and implemented to improve efficiencies.

5.         Professional business relations exist with employees and external vendors.

6.         Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher in an area related to Human Resources; e.g Business, Psychology, Human Resources or Labor Relations

Required Knowledge: Understanding of HR job functions, including benefit administration and payroll

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of operations at CASE Credit Union. 

Experience REQuired: O ne to three years’ experience working in an HR-related area.
