We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. Our Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time using our payroll software, Paylocity
- Organize and input employee hours, bonuses, and other payroll-related data
- Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including W-2s and 1099s, in accordance with statutory requirements
- Collaborate with HR and the executive team to maintain employee records and update changes in payroll systems
- Stay aware of changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation as required
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the payroll function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
