Full Stack .Net Developer

Our client, a prestigious Federal contractor, is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Full Stack .Net Developer to join their team in a hybrid role (home-based and Sterling, VA) to begin an exciting and challenging career. Our client is looking to onboard as a 6-month contract to hire.

The position is Hybrid, and the candidate will need to be in the DMV area and available to come onsite up to 2 days per week. The team meets biweekly on Thursdays, but other than that, it would be on a case-by-case basis for specific meetings and quite rare. At this point, it's only once every two weeks.

As a Principal Full Stack .Net Developer, you will be a member of the team supporting the Land Border Integration (LBI) program for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program. The position will be supporting various border security efforts of CBP and includes biometric technologies such as facial recognition, RFID enabled documents, license plate reading technologies, data analytics, IoT, and other border security technologies. Responsibilities:
- Active member of the agile software development team, participating in daily stand-ups and collaborating on design and problem-solving
- Utilize full-stack development expertise that ranges from client development of markup and styling to OS-level services and server-side containers and database technologies.
- Contribute to the design and development of ASP.NET applications and hosted services.
- Design pattern implementations, including service locater and dependency injection.
- Create client user interface applications with primarily ReactJS and some VueJS (JavaScript frameworks).
- Support Docker desktop containers and services such as Kubernetes or Konvoy.
- Database support for PostgreSQL, with Entity Framework code-first or database-first.
- Document software designs, which may include design diagrams, data flow diagrams, software module descriptions, etc.
- Use Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools, including VSCode, Microsoft Visual Studio, and GIT

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement with the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a directly related field is required (4 years' experience in lieu of degree)
- Distributed system design and development with Microsoft .NET environment in support of ASP.NET applications and hosted services
- Must have strong .Net development, preferably .NET 6 and C# (not VB)
- Familiar with build pipelines, including Jenkins with SonarQube.
- Experience with AWS services
- RDBMS experience is a must, preferably Postgres, but other platforms are fine. Any RDMS SQL experience will be sufficient.
- Front End JavaScript Framework is a must, preferably React, but Vue or Angular are fine
- Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in team environments across a diverse set of projects with multiple stakeholders
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a delivery mindset
- Middleware and User Interface driven applications
- Agile development
- Git, Git Tools, including GitLab
- Docker experience
- Entity Framework with code-first or database-first
- PostgreSQL with some SQLServer
