Purpose of Position
Plans and coordinates inhouse and customer based field installation and integration of flight simulation PC windows based real time computing image generation, fixed matrix type projection and optical display systems at customer’s facility ensuring system functionality through execution of documented test procedures meets program specifications.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reading, understanding, and interpreting block diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, customer and regulatory specifications.
- Using basic electronic test equipment and understanding of analog and digital technology necessary for analysis of problem(s) and determination of root cause(s) including recommendation(s) for repair, replacement, or other necessary corrective action.
- Documenting and tracking issues identified in fulfillment of job duties through appropriate reporting channel following up and coordinating problem resolution with engineering, customer service, production, or quality assurance as required.
- Developing, understanding, and executing detailed written customer and or program specific test procedures.
- Providing effective written communication to supervision providing status of activities, trip reports, and other technical reports as required in fulfillment of job duties.
- Providing an effective communication link between our customer and the company to help ensure a high level of service is provided to the customer.
- Conducting on the job training (OJT) regarding the safe operation and maintenance of our visual system demonstrating appropriate skills to team members and customers.
- Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments
- Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
- Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Heavy travel is involved in this postion.
Minimum Education
- Level I Grade 27 Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two year College or technical school in Computer Science, Computer networking and technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology and one year related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level II Grade 28 Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalet from two year College or technical school in Computer Science, Computer networking and technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology and three years’ related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level III Grade 29 Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two year College or technical school in Computer Science, Computer networking and technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology and five years’ of visual simulation experience. Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience. However, selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Level I (Grade 27) – Entry level uses basic understanding of the field to perform job duties Works directly with more senior Teammates. Work is closely observed and reviewed.
- Level II (Grade 28) – Performs more varied and difficult aspects of the job; may need some guidance on job duties; applies learning to recommend options to address unusual situations. Provides training to others as required.
- Level III Grade (29) – Competent in subject matter, principles, knowledge, and concepts; generally considered a specialist able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects.
- Formal Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+ certifications and UNIX familiarity are preferred.
- An additional requirement is having realworld experience including demonstrable successes delivering high levels of customer satisfaction in both installation and technical troubleshooting scenarios for hightechnology products.
- Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read and interpret documents: Able to write routine reports and correspondence: Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Valid Drivers License, where applicable.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
