Summary of Position
Keene State College's Wellness Center is seeking applications for a Student Health Service Nurse to provide clinical services of triaging sick or injured students to the appropriate clinician, conducting nursing assessments of students during nurse visits within the nursing scope of practice, assisting the clinicians with other tasks associated with clinic visits, and providing wellness education and promotion on campus. This is a 75%-time, benefited position, full-time during the academic year (August to May).
The Wellness Center is a very dynamic, creative, fun, and rewarding work environment. While the centerpiece of our work is providing direct care to students, there is plenty of opportunity to engage with colleagues within the Wellness Center and the broader campus community. - Associates Degree in Nursing.
- 3 years minimum experience in ambulatory care setting.
- RN Licensure in the State of New Hampshire.
- CPR Certification.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Strength as an independent practitioner in acute/ambulatory care setting; experience with gender specific health issues; additional years and experience with traditional college age students.
- Bachelor's degree.

Salary Information
Salary is commensurate with experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off. This position is part of the Keene State College Staff Association ( KSCSA ).

Duties / Responsibilities Job Duties
Duty/Responsibility
Nursing duties including:
• Serve as a triage nurse for student visits and phone calls.
• Conduct physical and mental health assessments using the nursing process
• Screen, assess, and schedule students for provider visits or nurse only visits
• Provide first aid and acute care treatment to injured and ill students using the nursing process and/or clinic protocols
• Perform clinic tasks including phlebotomy, suture/staple removal, ear lavage, wound care, injections, point of care lab testing
• Dispense OTC medications with dosing instructions per clinic protocols
• Manage prescriptions with a valid provider order
• Provide education regarding diagnosis, medications, lab results.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records using the EHR (currently MEDICAT )
• Refer student to community services when appropriate. May need to assist with transportation.
• Assist students with immunization compliance and update EHR .
• Perform any other task assigned by the provider that is deemed within the RN scope of practice. This may include rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medication, allergy, and medical histories, and obtaining initial laboratory specimens prior to the provider starting the visit
• Stock and clean lab, triage, and procedure areas.
• Assisting with front office/administrative needs when needed
Duty/Responsibility
Provide wellness education and promotion in clinic and on campus. Additionally, this may involve participating in responsibilities which sometimes fall outside the regular clinic operating hours of 8am-4:30pm.

Work collaboratively with the clinic staff, counseling center staff, Director and Chief Medical Officer; and maintain RN Licensure in the State of New Hampshire, including participating in college-health related continuing education.
