Responsibilities

The Interventional Technologist is responsible for all aspects of care related to adult inpatients or outpatients undergoing
procedures in the Interventional Neurology Lab. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed
assignments and interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs unique
to the patient. This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of professional work to be

qualifications required of employees assigned to the job. Call is requirement of this position. Must be able to respond
onsite within 30 minutes of the call.


1. Effective verbal and written communication skills
2. Sterile technique scrub and assist physician during cases
3. Administration and knowledge of medications given to the patient under the supervision of the physician
4. Operate physiologic monitoring equipment
5. Operate all equipment related to IN procedures (Penumbra IVUS ISTAT MedRad injector manual
thrombectomy pressure monitoring venous Doppler etc.)
6. Management of blood samples and calculations
7. Use of general patient care equipment and communication equipment
8. Successfully complete all annual competencies
9. Use of unit-specific equipment (computers copiers etc.)
10. Daily QA and trouble-shooting skills for radiographic equipment
11. Knowledge advocate and employ techniques for radiation safety
12. Knowledge of PACS data storage system
13. Good telephone and communication skills
14. Ability to adapt to changes in health care technology
15. Other duties assigned by management

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent

Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic TechnologyRegistered/registry eligible
Must be registered within 1 year of hiring through ARRT
AHA BLS
Preferred BA/BS VIR CNIC

All diagnostic imaging approved instrumentation computers and
communication equipment
