Summary
The Toyoda Gosei Group is a leading global manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive components, safety systems and LEDs. Globally Headquartered in Japan with a network of 67 group companies in 17 countries and regions, the Group brings its extensive range of products to customers all over the world. Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a Warranty Engineer in the Quality department. The Warranty Engineer functions with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for minimizing warranty exposure by ensuring effective root-cause analysis regarding emerging and existing functional part warranty issues for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA), and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a representative of Toyoda Gosei at OEM warranty review meetings
- Form cross-functional teams for collaborative root-cause analysis and resolution
- Ensure timely notification to internal and external customers regarding corrective action steps planned/taken
- Summarize and deliver meaningful data summaries from standard warranty data downloads
- Ensure proper logging, coding, and disposition of all warranty part returns from customers
- Maintain and expand warranty lessons-learned system
- Perform analysis on warranty parts and data received from customers
- Prepare warranty package submissions, and negotiate cost share rates with customers
- Drive optimization by actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum of Associate degree with 5 years related experiences or Bachelor degree in a technical field is required
- Program management experience is preferred
- Seven years of experience in warranty is preferred
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2016 or newer is preferred
- Experience working with or knowledge of Toyota GSQIDS, GM GART/Partlink, FCA EWT/WIS, Ford GSAR, etc. is preferred
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
- Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills is required
