Telecommunication Technician

Onsite | Annapolis Junction, MD | 5 Days a week

Active TS/SCI FSP Poly Clearance Required

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Telecommunication Technician to join their team! 

• Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems
• Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes
• Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches
• Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services
• Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed

Requirements

• 8 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
• Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
• Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
• Experience with:
  • Kubernetes
  • Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment
  • VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
  • Linux or OpenStack
• Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication
• Knowledge of networking service
• Knowledge of software defined networking

Preferred Requirements

• A Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent preferred
• A RHCSA certification is preferred

Education/Certification Requirements

• At least a HS diploma or GED is required

Clearance Requirements

• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI w/FSP Poly is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
