Job description
We are seeking a dynamic, engaging individual that will be the Entrepreneurship Program Lead/Economics Teacher in secondary school grade levels in face-to-face, online, and blended learning environments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining regular office hours and before/after school help sessions in order to advise and assist students in a variety of areas including potential careers in their related field of study.
- Assessing students and analyzing results; refining and differentiating classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
- Actively participating in the PK12 Social Science Professional Learning Community.
- Communicating regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress.
- Managing student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged.
- Actively participating in job-embedded professional development courses designed for the continual growth of the teaching and learning process at GAC.
- Identifying unique student needs and collaborating with team members to effectively address those needs.
- Living out the mission, vision, and core values of Greater Atlanta Christian School professionally and personally.
- Serving as a sponsor of student organizations and participating in campus and community events.
- Performing other related work as needed.

Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred;
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in Economics, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or a related field, including experience as an online instructor.
- Current Georgia Renewable Teaching Certificate in Secondary Social Science Education is required;
- Knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles.
- Successful work with entrepreneurs, including coaching/mentoring.
Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with individuals and group of all backgrounds;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills using English;
- Well-developed organizational skills;
- Lead the classroom and other activities with a heart of Christ and be an example of Christ to our students;
- Create a curriculum that meets state/national/College Board and GAC requirements;
- Work with other Science educators to facilitate horizontal and vertical alignment of the curriculum;
- Committed to the growth and promotion of the sciences at GAC and in the community;
- Manage a budget and maintain facilities with integrity and honor;
- Willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices;
- Embrace innovation as a tool to teach, engage, and motivate students;
- Share GAC’s commitment to differentiated learning and exhibit comprehension of modern learning skills, concepts, and tools;
- Create and teach online Entrepreneurship courses:
- Personal and Business Finance
- Marketing
- Oversee, supervise, and assess internship experiences
- Lead Entrepreneurship Lab experiences
- Oversee operations in Liles Entrepreneurship Lab (additional hours beyond school day)
- Establish and maintain local business relationships for internships and program events
- Economics and Finance teacher/chair (DC Economics)
- Teach DC Economics
- Serve as PLC Chair for Economics and Entrepreneurship PLC, including:
- AP Macroeconomics
- DC Economics
- CP Economics
- Personal and Business Finance
- Marketing
- Demonstrate interest and willingness to contribute the GAC school community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, student club leader, or assist with other co-curricular activities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be stationary for prolonged periods at a desk, sometimes while working on a computer.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to position self to maintain files in lower and higher drawers in cabinets.
- Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction.
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand using English as the primary language. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must be able to traverse between office buildings/facilities on campus.
Other:
- Successful background check, reference checks, and drug screening clearance required.
