Job description

Job Title: .NET MVC C# Developer
Location: St. Paul, MN 55106
Duration: 1 Year


Description of Project:
The Client, in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety (DPS), seeks a skilled .NET MVC C# developer to join the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) team. The selected candidate will primarily contribute to projects such as Driving While Impaired (DWI), Search Warrants Rewrite, and other assignments as designated.

The work will be conducted using a hybrid approach, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. The on-site work location is St. Paul, MN 55106. Telecommuting arrangements may vary based on team schedules and BCA policies.



Tasks:


1. Collaborate with planning managers, architects, business analysts, quality assurance analysts, and agencies to translate business requirements into technical designs and programming specifications aligned with the system architecture.
2. Implement enterprise solutions adhering to established BCA patterns in application development and data security.
3. Develop, deploy, and test software applications and modules using automated testing and deployment technologies and tools.
4. Offer guidance in identifying suitable technical solutions (at both application and system levels) that meet business objectives, including proposing technical alternatives to achieve cost-effective solutions.
5. Review test cases and test plans in collaboration with quality assurance staff.
6. Execute unit and integration testing procedures.



Desired Skills:

1. Proficiency in developing ASP .NET MVC applications with C#.
2. Experience with Unit testing (NUnit).
3. Proficient in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
4. Familiarity with Entity Framework.
5. Proficiency in writing T-SQL for MS SQL Server.
6. Experience working within Agile Scrum development teams.
7. Proficiency in developing Windows Services using .NET 4.0 or above.
8. Familiarity with XML schemas and XSLT.
9. Experience with REST/SOAP web services and Web API.
10. Familiarity with DevOps practices, including automation for CI/CD pipelines.
11. Experience with front-end JavaScript libraries, especially Bootstrap 4/5 and jQuery.
12. Strong communication skills to articulate highly technical concepts and introduce new technological tools or methods.
13. Ability to foster strong business partnerships with senior MNJIS team members and criminal justice and technical staff.
14. Knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts.
15. Experience working with law enforcement or criminal justice systems.
