Job description
Peraton is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to provide project management support for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, & milestones. Coordinate meetings, set agendas, ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project objectives & timelines.
- Team Coordination and Support: Act as a liaison between project managers, technical teams, and other departments & facilitate the flow of information among team members.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate effective communication between all stakeholders, including other agency members, vendors, and external partners. Organize and attend stakeholder meetings, providing updates and gathering feedback.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports and project status reports to regular updates for senior management.
- Resource Management: Assist in resource allocation & scheduling, ensuring resource availability & efficient utilization. Monitor project budgets, help manage expenditures. Identify potential risks and issues related to the project, suggesting mitigation strategies. - Track and manage issues as they arise, keeping the project on track.
Required Qualification:
- BS/BA with minimum 5 years of experience or MS/MA with 3 years of experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 9 years of experience.
- At least five (5) years of experience supervising or overseeing software development related projects.
- Proficient with program management tools such as Microsoft Project
- Experience with agile tools such as Jira or similar applications.
- Experience in work planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates capacity to engage effectively with stakeholders and all levels.
- Understanding of legacy systems and modern IT solutions.
- Must have an Active/Current Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience in managing software modernization projects.
- Experience with TT&C for ground systems and spacecraft
- Familiarity with managing Agile based development teams while monitoring and reporting traditional waterfall EVMS metrics.
- Familiarity with change management processes.
- Basic technical knowledge of programming languages and databases.
