Job description
We are looking for a Director Of Quality for our food manufacturing client in Ontatio location.
Responsibilities:
Create and execute comprehensive programs aimed at minimizing food safety risks while consistently achieving outstanding quality outcomes.
Supervise the Quality Department's operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary limits without compromising product quality and safety.
Provide robust leadership and support to the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams, including responsibilities such as hiring, developing subject matter experts (SMEs), coaching, and mentoring.
Offer technical assistance to both internal and external partners, specifically concerning food safety and quality systems during ongoing production and new product development.
Establish efficient reporting mechanisms for data collection and trend summarization, facilitating compliance monitoring and continuous improvement of quality performance.
This includes reducing recalls, addressing customer concerns, and cultivating positive relationships with regulatory bodies and customers.
Utilize insights derived from data to make well-informed decisions in addressing internal and external issues.
Ensure timely and effective resolution of product concerns and formal complaints while safeguarding the company's interests.
Keep executive leadership informed of significant issues and regularly update them on the status of food safety and quality programs.
Collaborate with various departments to instill a robust food safety culture throughout the organization.
Actively engage in external professional associations to stay abreast of industry trends, standards, and technologies in food manufacturing.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in the food industry.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in a science-related field, such as Chemistry, Food Sciences, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Ability to develop and articulate a clear vision for food safety and quality programs, aligning them with the company's overall strategic objectives.
Proven track record in implementing and driving continuous improvement initiatives, promoting a culture of innovation, and consistently raising quality standards.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex issues related to food safety and quality, utilizing data-driven insights and making informed decisions.
