non-profit organization in
Monrovia looking for an Accounting Manager
Reporting directly to and working in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, the Accounting Manager will oversee various aspects including accounting, billing, payroll, reconciliation, budget development and tracking, financial operations, finance personnel management, insurance coverage, management of legal requirements, and projections for individual project budgets, grant budgets, and capital improvement budgets as relevant to the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic vision, organizational planning, development, and oversight of the organization’s financial outlook.
- Oversee upper-level accounting and administration of state and/or federal grant programs, including budget development and supervision of support staff.
- Prepare, interpret, and analyze a wide variety of financial reports, and assist in the development and implementation of agency administrative procedures.
- Assist in resource development by preparing budgets for grant proposals aligned with the organization's strategy.
- Conduct consistent analysis of financial data, ensuring accurate, reliable, timely, and complete financial reports and statements are presented monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Communicate monitored progress and changes effectively to senior leadership and board governance to keep them abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, financial/accounting software, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, fiscal management, and grant programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of nonprofit accounting experience.
- Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, and terminology related to financial nonprofit accounting and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in speaking, writing, listening, and presenting.
- Experience with finance department structure and managing finance department staff.
- Proven problem-solving skills effective in addressing departmental challenges with staff, Board of Directors, and colleagues.
