Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This position coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. This position also prepares items for shipment and receives incoming merchandise or material.
Job Description

- Perform computer transactions to issue parts for manufacturing orders; receive items into the plant; ship items on sales and transfer orders; and transfer items from one stock location to another, noting and reporting non-conformances.
- Protect and lubricate items for storage as required.
- Interface with Quality Records and Inspection personnel, communicating traceable information for material clearance on manufacturing orders; subcontract orders; warehouse orders; etc.
- Trains other employees and imparts personal knowledge of parts, procedures, machines, etc.
- Prepares items for shipment.
- Assembles, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material.
- Determines shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Contacts carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
- Requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Receives, unpacks, verifies and records incoming merchandise or material.
- Examines contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Perform various other duties and activities within the physical constraints of the job.
S kills Required
- Working skills and knowledge in the operation and use of mechanical equipment involved in the work assignment.
- Able to operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment in performance of warehouse duties.
- Well organized and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- SAP experience is a plus.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse or related experience
Additional Requirements
- Steel toe shoes required
- Schedule: 10AM - 6PM
Pay Rate/Salary
- $17 per hour
