Join a winning team! SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. NSS Sector has an opening for a Systems Engineer for a large, multi-year contract supporting critical development programs. The Systems Engineer must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical space engineering competence, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and will provide Architecture level oversight and leadership in the development of novel payloads in support of critical national security objectives.
Role Responsibilities:
- Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design,
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications
- Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
- From an information technology perspective, may be concerned with floor layout, power cooling, data storage, infrastructure management,
- Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives
- Develops information, which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products
- Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs
- Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives
- Designs research and develops highly advanced new applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on organization's reputation and business posture
- Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Poly
- Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience and ability to support working tasks with limited guidance and supervision
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
