We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to function as the Electrical & Controls Engineering Section Manager at our Alexandria, VA office. In addition to, the successful candidate will mentor junior engineers and engage in the design, construction, support, and evaluation of high-performance maritime systems for various customers. This opportunity is ideal for those looking to impact the maritime engineering field and work on programs that blend traditional excellence with innovative solutions.

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

In this role, you will:

• Lead, manage, and mentor the engineers in the Electrical Power & Control Systems section.
• Provide professional support services to NAVSEA Program Offices in the areas of surface combatants and unmanned maritime systems.
• Oversee plans, as well as programmatic support, to maintain milestone plans, and contract compliance.
• Work as a senior member of the engineering team designing and overseeing designs of ships systems, test site systems, fabrication drawings, technical procurement specifications, and acquisition documentation.
• Generate and revise acquisition, engineering, and logistics plans to conform to significant program events or milestones from program initiation through life cycle support including Milestone Decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team, resolving complex engineering challenges and optimizing system performance.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to auxiliary and fluid systems, and incorporate them into the section's operations as appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A Masters degree with 8-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance post-employment.
• Proficiency in technical writing.
• Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role, with the ability to lead and inspire an engineering team.
• Must possess familiarity with MS-Office software to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Power Point.
• Proficiency in using engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• The ability to travel (may be required up to 10%).

Additional desired experience and skills:

• 15 years of experience in engineering or scientific discipline.
• Professional Engineering License in related field is preferred.
• NAVSEA Program Office experience is preferred.
