Job description
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
GMC has an opening for Project Coordinator to support on-going projects in Greenville, SC office. The ideal candidate will coordinate work with professional engineers, clients, contractors, regulatory agencies and Construction Engineering Manager/Construction Representative, through the utilization of effective oral and written communication.
Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Monitor and update schedules by obtaining updates through meetings, construction coordination interviews and field verification
- Monitor and maintain the change notice/change order management system. Assist in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings
- Developing estimates for construction projects including but not limited to estimates associated with change notices
- Developing and maintaining the cost system including reconciling commitments, change orders, contractor invoices and producing cost reports
- Ability to determine construction material quantities
- Ability to perform high-level administrative functions for engineering executives
- Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering schedule milestones
- Execute and track construction plan and addenda distribution
- Assist with Advertisement for Bids
- Assist with formatting of contract documents and specifications
- Compose pre-bid Requests for Information
- Compile bids, execute Bid Tab and Letter of Recommendation
- Conform and distribute contract documents, amendments and consultant agreements
- Coordinate plan review submissions
- Maintain pre-construction records
- Coordinate general project correspondence, including multiple regulatory agencies
- Extreme attention of detail
- QA/QC
- Executes cross discipline checks and coordination
- Recognizes and reports risk management issues to Project Engineer as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction, accounting, engineering or architecture industries
- Must have experience in executing and maintaining contract documents
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Knowledge and application of Vantagepoint is preferred
- Detail-oriented
- Proven written and verbal communication
- Excellent time management
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize work
