AWS Systems Administrator

Job description
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Support performance testing and troubleshoot performance-related issues for applications in AWS, including access control, data integrity, analysis of capacity, Auto Scaling Group policies (for effectiveness), and application response times.
- Learn the system/application metrics and monitor the health and utilization of AWS resources. Provide patching, upgrades, and maintenance, and provisioning, automation, and security support.
- Host performance coordination calls 2x weekly with the client, development team, and certain stakeholders.
- Host external performance tests with other stakeholders and partners and assist with the creation and compliance of Performance Engineering Team processes.
- Generate reports for certain tests for each major release.
- Propose performance improvement options to the development team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years in a similar role (AWS systems administration).
- Experience with Elastic File System (EFS), Simple Storage Service (S3), and storage management.
- Experience using several of the following for administration, monitoring, and collaborating: CodeDeploy, Jira, Confluence, JavaScript, networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, etc.), Python, GitHUB.
- Experience database management (e.g. PostgreSQL) is desired but not required.
- Knowledge of/understanding of container technology such as Docker.
- Productive, articulate, and professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (English).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 4 years of additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of Bachelors.
