Title- SQL BI Developer

Salary- $125,000-$135,000

Position Overview:
This role combines the use of data analytics and SQL development coupled with transactional loan accounting in the financial services environment working directly with key clients that are leading credit investment and specialty finance firms.
BPA is seeking a Senior SQL Developer/Financial Analyst who will work closely with our technology and business systems professionals. The position requires a knowledgeable, self-motivated professional with strong attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Write programs to generate and manage daily transactional data from master data
• Perform financial analysis, modeling, create transformations/calculations from raw data and using advanced analytic tools, such as SQL programming and querying, Power Query, Power BI, C#, Visual Studio, ETL development, Azure, Advanced Excel and VB for all Microsoft Office Products to create custom outputs
• Develop safeguards and QC methods
• Analyze, design, and develop for changes to existing as well as new projects for implementation of custom Finance Management and Control reporting applications
• Define database design and development methodologies, providing solutions, estimation and performing the development
• Propose technical solutions and improvements proactively, based on pros and cons after analysis of various options
• Prepare technical deliveries, plan deployment strategy and support implementation
• Contribute to key strategic and support projects by providing guidance, technical review and setup of best practices for team members on various topics on development and project matters
• Track component obsolescence and plan for upgrade
• Understand complex credit structures, loan documents and valuation
• Interface with clients and other third parties
• Develop project deliverables including written reports, data file presentations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, analytics or relevant business field
• 5+ years’ experience in an analytics role using Advanced Excel, SQL, Power Query (M Language), C#, Visual Studio and Power BI
• Prior experience at a finance company or direct lender, fund administrator, commercial bank, specialty servicing company or an investment firm
• Understanding of transactional side of loan accounting for purposes of transforming data/calculations to user friendly outputs
• Ability to write efficient, complex queries against very large data sets and complex business requirements
• High levels of ownership and drive, able to work in Team oriented work style
• Strong problem solving, decision-making and organization capabilities
• Ability and willingness to multi-task and re-prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills in a highly professional environment
