Position Summary:
Must be enrolled in courses at Methodist College.
To provide assistance to the Admissions and Recruitment team with the enrolment of new students.

Some experience in student leadership, good interpersonal and communication skills

- Current student enrolled in courses at Methodist College
- Must have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at ww.fafsa.ed.gov to become eligible for College Work study.
- The student must not be on academic probation
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Must be organized, have good customer service skills, be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Data entry skills, organizational skills, ability to operate a wide variety of copy related equipment, moderate to heavy listing, basic math skills and ability to follow written instructions accurately are required. Capable of using computers and Microsoft Office, ability to work within an office setting, customer service and communication skills, pays attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines also required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must understand and uphold FERPA, protecting student privacy. Must project a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate the Admissions Communication Plan through the sending of letters, admissions packets, e-mails, etc.
- Act as a back-up receptionist for the Student Services Window.
- Answer phones, e-mails, and assist internal and external MC constituents.
- Assist in the planning and execution of Admissions events and New Student Orientation.
- Conduct applicant file audits.
- Assist with the scholarship awarding process through data entry and validation.
- Perform special clerical projects.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- Interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external clients of MC.
- Interact effectively and courteously with culturally diverse groups.
- Communicate accurate information to recipients.
- Provide extra SI sessions and/or marathon sessions as necessary (e.g., prior to examinations)
- Ascertain course requirements and maintain contact throughout the term with course faculty member or designated representative
- Meet with other campus SI Leaders and Supervisory Staff at scheduled meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Director
