This community non-profit Medical Center is actively interviewing RN candidates for a Nursing Director of Emergency Department. Join a fantastic health care system, and lead a team of dedicated ED Nurses that see the area’s most critically ill and injured citizens.

As the population of Central Washington grows, the need for reliable and experienced Emergency Care staff grows with it. The Nursing Director that oversees the Emergency Department will manage frontline services provided to this community. Leading a team of 30+ FTEs, including CEN Nurse Supervisors and Charge / Unit Leaders, TNCC Certified Registered Nurses, Experienced Staff Nurses, and support staff, the ED Nurse Director will display expertise in a wide continuum of care.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Director of the Emergency Department will take a crucial role in the clinical and administrative operations of the hospital’s highest acuity department. Swift judgement and assertive clinical acumen will allow the Director to lead this fast paced and integral ED, which sees over 10K visits per year in an Emergency Room that isn’t much larger than 10 beds.

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Emergency Services Manger to take the next step, the ED Nursing Director will take administrative control a large number of processes and work across discipline with many of the hospital’s leaders. You’ll get to work in concert with the financial office, including the CFO and Controller, to develop and maintain unit budgets and financial performance metrics. Other key administrative duties will be spearheading regulatory compliance processes for the unit and maintaining staffing and scheduling processes for a busy Emergency Room.

The Nursing Emergency Director will also take a strong clinical role in the unit and within the hospital. Serving as the point of contact for process evaluation, quality improvement, and front-line risk mitigation, you’ll enjoy participating in the clinical operations of a well-oiled department. Another exciting clinical aspect of the job will be to serve your staff as a mentor and coach. Developing leadership behaviors in both new and tenured staff will increase the standards of nursing excellence for the unit, and by extension the hospital.
