Job description

Our Outpatient Therapy team is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health or substance abuse diagnoses. Our services are tailored to meet the specific mental health needs of our clients and can be provided both in-office and other approved settings. We employ client-centered and family-centered approaches, delivering intensive, time-limited, goal-specific interventions that include psycho-educational activities designed to reduce dysfunction.

Position Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with a Master's Degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Marriage and Family Therapy). The Master's Degree must include clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services. Applicants must hold a license or be License Eligible (LMHP-R); Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Virginia. A minimum of two (2) years of verified experience in the mental health field is required, along with valid Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances. Participation in and completion of all UMHS mandatory in-services is expected.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other treatment providers and act as a liaison to placement agencies, Wrap-Around services, schools, and foster homes to ensure an integrated approach to treatment.

Maintain clinical records, including progress notes and other documentation, in accordance with accreditation and licensing standards, managed care expectations, and agency policies.

Provide individual and family counseling services to an assigned caseload on a daily basis.

Complete all clinical documentation (Assessments, progress notes, Treatment Plans, etc.) per company policy.

Apply patient documentation and record-keeping guidelines set by the state, managed care, and agency policies.

Demonstrate problem-solving abilities, thorough analysis, and reasoning in identifying and addressing issues.

Set goals, assign priorities, anticipate problems, establish limits, achieve results, and complete multiple tasks within a timeline.

Provide quality individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy, with a focus on the patient's identified diagnosis and needs. Offer crisis intervention as needed.

Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose, formulate and monitor individualized treatment plans and interventions.

Provide case management and utilization review services for patients in the assigned caseload. Offer education to patients and families as needed.

Make appropriate referrals to services within the agency or outside, ensuring continuity of care in discharge planning.

Actively participate in clinical supervision and peer review activities. Provide consultation with other professionals and engage in ongoing clinical team treatment staffing.

Engage in community education and outreach, including referral development and marketing efforts to generate new business.

Maintain a minimum weekly caseload of (10) clients per week for part-time positions; (30) clients per week for full-time positions, including children, adolescents, and adults.

Qualifications:

Hold a Master's degree in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
Minimum requirements: Resident in Counseling, Supervisee in Social Work.
Licensure preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP).
