Job description
New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is actively seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer for a 6-month contract position with a possible contract conversion or extension. This position will work onsite in Sterling, VA.
The Data Center Operations Engineer, Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.
Responsibilities: - Will be working on a team that supports the Data Center Operations, mechanical and electrical infrastructure of data center facility
This is a 24/7 support team, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitor building, building management
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance
- Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc
- May assist in projects to increase current facility efficiency
Basic Qualifications: - 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience
- 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
- Data Center experience (understand the makeup)
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Familiar with and utilize Building Management Systems
- Trouble shooting electrical distribution, operational rounds, monitor equipment manager vendor check in, safety compliance
- Experienced with Ticket ques
- Preferred experience working in critical environments
- Strong attention to detail
- Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment

Compensation : $37.00 per hour
