Job description

The Financial Controller is responsible for implementing and maintaining local financial controlling to ensure necessary transparency. This includes assisting the CFO with the overall financial reporting, safeguarding company assets, and overall accounting systems maintenance and development.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining and analyzing project cost reporting, including monthly reporting to CFO/Management and ODU Group Controlling.
- Responsible for financial oversight of Sales companies including creating and maintaining detailed Sales reports, forecasting and budgeting.
- Assists in the preparation of local annual budget (including departmental budgets), which includes establishing and improvement budget procedures and ongoing monthly reporting.
- Assists with and establishes local risk management system and reporting to CFO / Management and ODU Group Controlling.
- Serves as primary implementer of controlling activities, as directed by the CFO, defined as safeguarding of company assets, expenditure control, monitoring and adherence to budgets, and other ad hoc controlling activities as directed.
- Responsible for the oversight of inventory control functions, including verifying inventory adjustments are properly documented and approved, cycle counts performed and documented, and inventory confirmations procured, verified, and maintained.
- Develops and maintains full knowledge of subsidiary reporting, including Smart List and other SQL reporting to support account balances and activities (e.g., Inventory Valuation Report, Stock Status Reports, etc.).
- Creates and contributes, as directed by CFO, to controller advisory reports for the purpose of documenting advisory corrections related to internal controls.
- Responsibility for inventory and asset valuation according to ODU Group guidelines.
- Assists with the conversion from GP to SAP, with post-implementation maintenance and improvements
- Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar field, or equivalent education and work experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting/finance role (such as accountant, assistant controller, etc.).
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP; ability to navigate additional systems and technology (Microsoft office, etc.)
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Public accounting experience a plus.
- Prior experience in an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or similar industry.
- Working knowledge of the Spanish language (or fluency).

The salary range for this role is $90,000 USD - 120,000 USD; however, ODU considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
