Job description
The Agronomy department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will work on research projects that involve various tissue culture, molecular, and microscopic techniques to study biolistic- and Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation methods. Job duties will include plasmid vector design and construction, Agrobacterium transformation and manipulation, plant tissue culture, transient and stable plant transformation using biolistic- and Agrobacterium-mediated methods, microscopy, data analysis, generating reports, and publishing manuscripts.
In addition, this position will assist managing lab operations including maintaining lab equipment's, stocking lab supplies, training and supervising undergraduate student workers, and providing support to graduate students.
PhD in Plant Biology or related field.
⢠Experience in Biolistic- and Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation.
⢠Experience in CRISPR technology.
⢠Experience in Gene editing data analysis.
⢠Experience in Microscopy techniques.
⢠Experience in Nucleic acid isolation from bacteria and plants.
⢠Experience in Plasmid vector design and construction.
⢠Experience in Plant tissue culture.
