Position Summary
The Revenue Manager supports US and German financial needs by overseeing day-to-day accounting activities. This role requires a strong background in revenue accounting and managing the general ledger, a deep understanding of ASC 606 regulations and experience with NetSuite. Financial excellence will be achieved by leveraging your expertise in financial analysis, data integrity, compliance and cross-functional collaboration and partnership. The Revenue Manager reports directly to the Controller.
This is a hybrid role, with onsite days in our Boston, MA HQ
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Revenue
- Ensure correct revenue recognition period/terms.
- Monitor and test monthly revenue recognized.
- Review and approve all new product additions.
- Work with FP&A on reporting capabilities.
- Work with Controller on review of all significant contracts.
- Prepare and maintain revenue testing packages, including:
- Purchase Order
- Packing Slip
- Delivery Confirmation
- Invoice
- ARM Revenue Allocation Summary
- Prepare and distribute commission files.
- Prepare Royalty Calculations.
- Work closely with FP&A on revenue projections, monthly tie outs.
- Prepare SSP Analysis semi-yearly.
- Monitor returns/code red items.
- Manage training revenue, coordinate with Customer Service quarterly for independent confirmation.
- Manage intercompany revenue and assist controller with eliminations.
- Review and manage Accrued Warranty.
- Prepare technical memos on complex accounting items.
- Manage capitalized commissions.
- Manage signoff/control requirements of revenue related areas.
- Assist Germany when needed, preform independent checks on revenue.
- Prepare quarterly support for public filings.
- Prepare work instructions for all tasks.
- Manage the accounting specialist with the order to cash process.
Skills & Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with different functions across the organization in a fast-paced environment as well as independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, enabling articulate, courteous, and professional dialogue with colleagues and external partners and/or vendors.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to roll up sleeves when needed to help achieve company goals.
- Proficient in MS Excel, or similar, a plus.
- Hands-on experience using NetSuite ERP strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership skills and commitment: Serves as a role model by showing initiative, being responsive and taking accountability.
- Organized, attentive and deadline driven.
- Capable of thinking critically and identifying/proposing solutions with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related required.
- A minimum of 6 years of Revenue Recognition accounting experience required.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience required.
- CPA or other accounting related certification strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
