Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Lead projects aimed at increasing communication and support statewide in advancing DEI (for example, newsletters, webinars, advisory groups, and additional avenues);
- Reach out to districts and BOCES to gather information about current best practices and provide leadership in expanding the DEI Resource Repository to ensure that these practices are shared statewide;
- Respond to specific district challenges in the areas of DEI by providing targeted support and suggestions for overcoming these challenges;

- Facilitate and coordinate systems to share effective practices regarding DEI within the Department to help ensure a DEI lens in all areas, collaborating closely with offices within P-12;
- Build capacity of educators to meet the needs of a diverse student population by planning and conducting workshops and training programs which assist schools in improving the delivery of educational services as it relates to DEI and providing culturally-responsive school environments for all students, including specific strategies for supporting students within the LGBTQIA+ community, students with disabilities, and students from a range of cultural backgrounds;
- Develop guidance toolkits for districts/BOCES at all stages of implementation of DEI strategies (with a focus on supporting districts/BOCES in Year One, Year Two, and Year Three of implementation and beyond), utilizing the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CR-S) Education Framework;
- Support DEI leaders across the state through a statewide network aimed at building connections and sharing strategies among leaders;
- Contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of DEI programs and policies internally and externally;
