Here's how you can help. We are currently looking for a Paralegal  to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.

 

Position Highlights:

Support the General Counsel & attorneys with Association legal regulatory compliance and legislative
matters, including, but not limited to litigation management, dispute resolution, corporate reports and filings, trademark portfolio management, legislative updates, and interpretation and application of Association Constitution and By-Laws and Board Policy.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Work closely with other Divisions in developing and coordinating updates to governing documents of the Association. 
  2. Coordinate and monitor litigation matter in consultation with in-house and outside counsel; maintain litigation files; perform legal research; prepare pleadings and other documents as necessary.
  3. Responsible for trademark portfolio maintenance, correspondence, files and database; coordinate trademark registrations, renewals and oppositions in consultation with in-house and outside counsel.
  4. Review applications for use of association trademarks and monitor and respond to illegal use of trademarks; coordinate the preparation, printing and mailing of trademark use policies and forms.
  5. Review and approve club and district foundation applications and governing documents; maintain files and database of club and district foundations.
  6. Research and track legislation and regulations affecting the organization and its constituents.
  7. Maintain records on bills, public laws and the development of regulation policies.
  8. Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, forms etc., often of a confidential nature and requiring individual judgment, without significant instruction or review.
  9. Receive, refer or respond to inquiries or requests of members, staff and public.
  10. Review and provide analysis of election and other dispute resolution complaints, preparation of complaint summaries in consultation with in-house counsel.
  11. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations as appropriate to field.
